Szabó-Yélamo Concert Series at the Regional Cultural Centre

Inaugural Concert

Donegal Chamber Music Society and the Regional Cultural Centre present the Szabó-Yélamo String Duo Concert Series. This Chamber Music Concert Series, with support from Co. Donegal VEC Music Education Partnership, is designed specially for Classical Music Lovers across the Northwest. The inaugural concert will be held next Friday 26th of February at 8pm at the Regional Cultural Centre Letterkenny.

The Szabó-Yélamo String Duo was founded in 2006 when its members were completing a Masters in Classical String Performance at the University of Limerick. The wife and husband duo is comprised of the Hungarian violinist Orsolya Szabó-Yélamo and the Spanish cellist Víctor Yélamo. Both are professional musicians and principal members of the Concerto Málaga Chamber Orchestra Spain and are extensively involved in music education in Donegal.

The inaugural concert will feature a presentation of the Duo's new project the Letterkenny Children Orchestra and the acclaimed Donegal Chamber Orchestra. The programme will include music by Bach, Stamitz, Sibelius and Elgar. It is the first in a series of Szabó-Yélamo String Duo concerts in collaboration with local and international classical musicians that will take place at the Regional Cultural Centre during 2010.
